Coming from Salta, Argentina, Irene Boleda is a recent graduate of the prestigious Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema (Concordia University), Montreal, Canada. Throughout high school Irene indulged in social and artistic activities where she expressed herself from different perspectives such as dance, arts and crafts, playing drums and saxophone, corporal expression. Irene's film projects explore innovative combinations of vibrant images and inspirational messages about life.  In her unique approach to experimental filmmaking, Irene embraces fundamental cinema techniques such as optical printing and hand processing.  After winning the Entrepreneurship Award from her school Irene is now working on a performance installation and in the pre-production stages of feature length documentary titled Carnavaleando.  Through Irene's passion for cinema she strives to represent minority issues and give back to her community by expressing positive messages that can be felt on a basic human level.

Irene's recent works include the short experimental films: Lartigue Avenue (2007, 6 minutes), de Colores (2008, 10 minutes) and Cantame (2009, 9.39 minutes), as well as her explorations into installation, with works featuring dance and multiple live 16mm projections of optically printed and hand painted images.
