Special film screening event at the NFB Theatre: Monday, January 11th at 7h30pm. (05/01/10)
GreenGround Productions and the Foreground Filmmakers Collective will be presenting the best 35mm prints to come out of Concordia's Mel Hoppenheim School of cinema in recent years. The free screening event will consist of a program of short films produced by Concordia students, professors and alumni – all projected on 35mm.
Admission is free, however, Montreal documentary filmmaker and member of the Foreground collective Irene Boleda will be on hand to raise funds for her latest project, Carnavaleando, which is to be shot later this year in Argentina.
The screening is set for 7:30 pm at the NFB theatre, 1564 St. Denis Street, Montreal. It will be followed by an after-party at a nearby location to the theatre.

Website for upcoming documentary to be shot in Argentina is online and open for crowd-funding. (20/11/09)
This documentary will follow the lives of two young Argentine women, Paula Acreche and Celiana Spaventa. As part of the “post dictatorship” middle class, they have decided to return to Argentina after living abroad for many years. The film will travel with these passionate and extroverted women as they seek to reconnect with their cultural heritage and search for their place in Argentina’s present day. With this motivation in mind, the Paula and Celiana will participate in the annual pre-harvest Carnaval spanning Northwestern Argentina.

We are actively looking for co-production and distribution opportunites for feature length projects such as The Old Woman and the Wave, directed by Jacquelyn Mills or The May Flower by Tao Gu. The Chicago International Children's Film Festival welcomes two GreenGround Productions (05/08/09)
Fear of Snakes by Andreas Mendritzki and My Name is Tuan by Nguyen-Anh Nguyen were invited to the 26th Chicago International Children's Film Festival, North America's largest and most celebrated film festival devoted to films for and by kids - and the only oscar-qualifying children's film festival in the world. They will be attending the event between October 26th and November 1st.

GreenGround Productions was awarded a 2009 Grant from La Fondation du Maire as part of the foundation continuing support for promising Montreal entrepreneurs. The grant offers financial support to the selected company but also lifetime consulting services with some of the city's most important entities. GreenGround Productions, in association with Rockridge Pictures and RedGround Camera Rental, is proud to announce the launch of our SeaChange Program which will award up to 10 000$ worth of production services to emerging filmmakers.
SeaChange aims to support independent filmmakers with the tools necessary to practice their craft. Films accepted into the program will get to shoot for free on a RED One camera from RedGround Camera Rental, receive free online mastering from Rockridge Pictures and production services from GreenGround Productions.

Andreas has been invited to the 13th edition of the Regard sur le Court-Métrage du Saguenay, one of North America's premier short film festival, for a public reading of his script Sanctuaire. The reading will happen Friday, March 13th as part of one of the special events of the Festival.
Aonan Yang is participating in the Berlinale's production market and will be co-presenting, along with Cindy Lin from Infotainment China, at the first Chinese Co-Production Round Table at the Berlinale,

Aonan and Anh were invited to present Singularity as part of Kodak's Next Generation Showcase at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. The showcase includes other regional winners from the Kodak Cinematography Competition and a worldwide selection of award-winning shorts.

GreenGround is happy to announce the production of “On the Way to the Sea”, an experimental documentary on nostalgia, a hybrid creation of surrealistic optical printing and realistic documentation on the aftermath of the Sichuan earthquake that happened this past May, the biggest in China's history. Written and directed by Tao Gu, produced by Aonan Yang, with production support from Main Film, On the Way to the Sea will begin principal shooting in November, in Sichuan province, China.

We’ll be there from September 4th to the 13th promoting ourselves and checking out the market & festival. Specifically, we’re pleased to announce that GreenGround will be cooperating with Infotainment China and Cindy Lin on the development of a new feature-length comedy. Check out more about Infotainment China, the first private film sales agent to come out of Mainland China. We’ll both be at the festival working together to cook up support for the film.
Also, while in Toronto, Aonan will be participating in the festival’s prestigious Talent Lab program for emerging Canadian filmmakers. It's an intensive four day series of workshops and lectures with the likes of Brian DePalma, Oliver Assayas, and many other luminary figures from around the world.
'Singularity' wins the North American Kodak Filmschool Competition! (01/09/08)


Congratulations to Aonan and Anh, cinematographer and director respectively, who are the first Canadians ever to win Kodak’s top educational prize. As part of their prize they’ll be going later this year at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, where they’ll be up against three other student films from the other continents to compete for the title of best cinematography in the world!
Singularity is also up for big prizes in Air Canada’s En Route festival. Check it out and vote!

And so congrats to Jacquelyn Mills for yet another prize. She picked up Kodak’s Best New Canadian Director Award at the Montreal World Student Film Festival. She and Xun 'Fish' Yu also picked up Best Cinematography at TIFF’s student festival this past summer. The film is also nominated for a whopping 8 awards, including Best Canadian Short, at the Atlantic Film Festival. 'Fear of Snakes' in post-prod.
Andreas’s 35mm short, based on Lorna Crozier’s poem, Fear of Snakes, was shot this summer with Aonan as DP. The editing of the film is slated to begin this fall.
